last night was the best concert that i've ever been!! it's actually an Avril Lavigne concert together with Simple Plan but i was more anxious in seeing Simple Plan live than Avril. i'm not really a fan of Avril though i listen to her songs. anyways, my sister and i left our house about 3 hours before the concert, about 5pm. we were supposed to be taking the cab to get there faster but it ended with us taking the bus and a cab when we reached Ayala. thanks to this one cab driver who took us to The Fort without any hesitation. i prolly report those mean drivers who don't wanna use their meter and don't wanna go to The Fort. nways, we got there about 45min after leaving our house and we got off at the wrong side of the venue making us walk about a block. goodness!! it's only when we reached our entrance gate that i noticed that we should've walked the other way around 'coz it's shorter. ohwell, we did some exercising already and when we reached our entrance, Gold Left 6, 7. my sister's friend, Abby, was already there. she's actually a minor, 15 y/o and she's Taiwanese-Filipino, which is great! nways, we waited for about an hour before they finally let us in. i think the security was lax that if i placed a camera in one of the side pockets of my pants, i could've pulled it. ohwell, my mom had the digicam anyways 'coz 'twas my youngest bro's HS Graduation, which i didn't attended 'coz of this concert. good thing i bought this binoculars with camera before i left the US. me, my sis and her friend were the first people to get inside. while i was busy looking for our seats, my sis and her friend opted to just stay near the stage. aftersometime, i went to where they were and saw that Chuck, SP's drummer, was on stage talking to Pat, his bestfriend and SP's videoguy. so i screamed his name and he looked at us, smiled and waved. then my attention was diverted to the guy who was wearing a black cap, black hoody and black pants, who was facing the sound system, tuning his guitar. it was David, SP's bassist and my sister and her friend's favorite member amongst the band members. they were trying to get his attention but unfortunately, their voice weren't as loud as mine. so i screamed his name and he was nice enough to turn his back and look at our side and then waved at us. then i saw Seb, SP's guitarist. i screamed his name. unlike the other two, he just looked at us but didn't wave nor smile at all. i admit i was disappointed and called him a snob. Pierre, the lead vocals and Jeff, the other guitarist, were nowhere in sight. my sis called David once more and this time, it was only her who called him and he looked at her and of course, my sis went gaga. after an hour and a half, which was already 30min delayed from the time that it should've started, we finally saw Chuck going to his drumset. we were all getting ready to run to the nearest possible position where we can watch em. goodness! as soon the first song started, my sister ran as fast as she could that i literally have to bump quite a number of people just to keep pace with her. and wow! we're so damn lucky to have been one of those people who were leaning over the border that separated the stage and the crowd. i've never been that close to any stage during a concert and i was more than satisfied that i was, we were able to be that close to them. we were at the left side and near the middle part of the stage. Jeff was in front of us with David on his left then Seb on the right part. Chuck was at the right part as well, in between Seb and David. Pierre, he was all over the stage, here and there. first song was Shut Up! it's from their new album, Still Not Getting Any. it was followed by Grow Up, Addicted, Me Against the World, Jump, You don't Mean Anything, Welcome to My Life, (can't remember the order for the next songs)God Must Hate Me, The Worst Day Ever, Promise, I'd do Anything, I'm Just a Kid, and Crazy. it's the first time they sung Crazy in a concert and that's because it's their first time here in the Philippines. they also did a cover of I Believe in a Thing called Love by The Darkness. David hit the high notes perfectly along with Seb. but all things must come to an end. i've never been so hyper that i jumped up and down most of the time. well, if you're gonna watch a Simple Plan concert, you really have to jump up and down, most of all with their song Jump. Pierre got his acoustic guitar and started to strum. he had the crowd sung the first part of the song up to the chorus before the remaining band members played and Pierre continued singing. of course! this is like the National Anthem for all Simple Plan members. not that this song only sound good but the lyrics is just perfect! David was so hyper that he danced throughout the concert. he also kept on holding his crouch whenever he's jumping 'coz. my sis said it's for protection, if u know what i mean. lol it was so funny when Pierre got to said some Filipino words. he came out with this paper in his hand and it's his cheat sheet. then he screamed 'Mahal Ko... Shit!' he 4got the next word so he looked at his cheat sheet again and got the whole thing right, 'Mahal Ko Kayo!' then David asked him what did he said. then after a number of songs, Pierre screamed 'Galing N'yo.' that was cute actually! then i also heard David said Salamat but my sis didn't. they also promised that they'll be back and Pierre even said that he can't believe that it took them that long before they got their butts here. maybe they didn't know that they actually have fans here in the Philippines. nways, it was a really great night and after Simple Plan, im already satisfied that my money wasn't spent on sth worthless. i was already tired after Simple Plan. my energy was almost drained. i was so thirsty and all sweaty and nearly would faint if the security didn't gave me a bottle of water. i was already to go to the open area and leave my sister to buy some water 'coz i was really dehydrated already. nways, Avril Lavigne came out after 30min and man, out of 15 songs, i only know about 5 or 6 - Sk8r Boy, Tomorrow, Complicated, I'm with You and 2 songs from his new album. lol ohwell, Avril played the guitars, the piano and even the drums when David came out singing Song2 by Blur. nways, Avril's cute. she had less eyeshadow and eye liner. she actually looked like Barbie doll now that she's got her real hair color back. but man, she's got a really good voice. she sung so good. the concert lasted for about 2 and 1/2 hours, about an hour each, ending at around 11pm. they each sung 15 songs and it was all worth it.
