while everyone's falling in line to watch Avatar, my mom, sister & i watched this film. for one, we all like Heath. and since this is officially Heath's last film before he passed away, it is really a must-see for us. second, the story itself. call us weird or the likes but we really love watching this kind of films (most of all if we really like the actors in it). we like watching films that have weird, twisted and unusual stories. having Johnny Depp (along with Jude Law & Collin Farrell), to finish what was left, is a bonus for us since we also like him.

i'm not really good in making reviews. i only watch a film in the movie theaters if i really like the actor and/or the story. all i can say is that i really love the film. it's one film that i would never cease to love to watch. yes, it is entertaining and yet it doesn't end there. i like the story and how it revolves around imagination. i've seen other films having the same focus but this film's plot is different. hope is never lost. it always comes, whatever the situation may be.

Heath was great! it is really unfortunate that we won't be able to see his brilliance anymore. he would've been a greater actor in the years to come. nonetheless, i still feel happy that he was still able to complete a handful of scenes to complete another film apart from the Dark Knight. it's also a good thing that the film's focus is on the use of imagination. the scenes filled-up by Johnny Depp, Jude Law & Collin Farrell fitted very to keep the flow of the film. i read this on wiki a few minutes ago:

Gilliam said in retrospect about the first transition from Ledger to Depp in the film:

"He's extraordinary. That's why I put Johnny in first position [of the three new Tonys], because number one, he was going to be the most difficult to get any time with, and number two, I just thought if it works with the transition to Johnny and if the audience goes for it, they'll follow the next two. And that's exactly how it works. That's what's funny, when Johnny appears so many people think it's Heath! And it's a trick: Johnny's not doing anything. He looks like Johnny.
"[During the initial shoot] Heath was on stage and the Russians are appearing, and he was behaving in a very funny way, he was moving around, and I said, 'Heath, I know what you're doing.' He said, 'What are you talking about?' 'You're doing Johnny Depp, aren't you?' And can you believe, that helps this transition [when Ledger enters the mirror and becomes Depp]. This was not intended!"
yes, it is very effective that Johnny Depp came first. i noticed that part where Heath was trying to avoid the Russians and yes, he really did some Johnny Depp-like gestures. i already anticipated that JD will be really good. he proved me right! he was just being himself in playing the role. 'twas effortless! it's just sad that his part was the shortest due to his shooting schedule. on the other hand, i was eager to see Jude Law play the same role. i admit, i've seen very few of his films and so i really don't know how it would end up. i saw another side of him as an actor. Collin Farrell, his part suited him very well. i've seen him in different types of films so i already know how it would turn out. i think having those transformations made the film even better. they wouldn't have thought about it if Heath was able to complete the entire film.  nevertheless, i'm sure that the original script is also brilliant.

there's also this one scene where JD was convincing an old lady to choose the gandola. there on the water were boats with pictures of dead personalities who had passed away at a young age and at their peak. JD said that those who have died have become immortal for they have retained their youth. i believe that whoever wrote this line had Heath in his/her mind. yes, Heath is now an immortal being for he have died leaving a number of films in which he acted so brilliantly. he'll forever be remembered and not forgotten. he may have left physically but all his works will remain making him an immortal.

RIP Heath~ even at your very end, you were great!

*sorry for any wrong grammar. it's almost 5am and i'm really very, very sleepy.
