yesterday was a tragedy. it's very saddening that things ended up that way. it's very much evident how the local police force didn't know what to do in times of crisis. higher ranking officers didnt even know how to strategize. media didn't give a damn on anything else but to get a story to tell.

i feel so bad that because of the lack of knowledge & training to handle things like yesterday, a number of people died. and they were foreign nationals, w/c makes the image, again, of the country so bad as far as safety is concern. i sympathize to the family & friends of those whose lives were taken by a single person. my sincerest condolonces to them, to their countrymen, and to the entire Chinese community.

what this single person did definitely doesn't reflect the entire population. what happened was an isolated case. only that, it was handled so bad. even i saw it. i can't help but feel ashamed for the lack of capabilities our local law enforcement showed the entire world. even the basic mask to protect them from the tir gas that they threw was lacking. VERY POOR!!! i don't wanna imagine what will become of us if an international terrorist would pull a stunt that will threaten the entire security of the land. sa kangkungan na talaga tayo pupulutin. utang na loob lang, ilagay sa tama ang pondo at hindi sa bulsa ng mga buwaya na tanging tiyan lang ang lumalaki!!! now is the time for the axing of those officials that should've done something. if only it was election time, i'm pretty sure that a number would make pahanga to settle the hostage drama just to make their names smell good.

again, my sincerest condolonces and apologies to the family & friends of those whose lives were cut short by yesterday's tragedy.

on a lighter and happier note, Ms. Philippines' bet Ma. Venus Raj was crowned as the 4th Runner-Up on the recently concluded Ms. Universe 2010 held in Las Vegas. congratulations! i'm happy to hear this good news after yesterday's event. i was able to watch the last few minutes of the pageant. although Raj made it to the final 5, i felt that she could've done better than 4th RU only if she answered right. i've seen other BQs who weren't good in Q&A when they won here but did A-ok when they made it to the final so i can't help but feel regretful that she wasn't able to answer w/ the best that she can. still lacked training in answering impromptu questions. confident, yes, but not confident enough to stood there and answer with oozing confidence & smartness.

nonetheless, congratulations to her for bringing something back for the country, most of all at this time. thankful to her that she didn't give-up when her title was taken back due to citizenship irregularities. at least she didn't fail us when she said she'll bring the bacon back home. she did, only it's not the title we all hoped for. but still, 4th Runner-Up is 4th Runner-Up. she beat the other 75 ladies who joined the pageant.

congratulations Ma. Venus Raj! i'm happy & proud of you!
