i'm not really a big football fan but i did follow the 2010 World Cup held at South Africa.
i was cheering for Japan & Korea at the beginning.
but when it came to the quarter finals,
i started to cheer for Spain as well.
i know! i know!
ironic how i cheer for countries who're part of our 'dark' history.
but then again,
past is past and we're in the 21st century already.
too bad,
i only managed to watch the last 3 games -
ESP vs GER , GER vs URU & ESP vs NED.

last night, or rather, early this morning (2AM to be exact),
i stayed up for the finals.
wow!
it was a long 116minutes till Iniesta hit the goal!
now i know why my cousin Kat likes Casillas.
he is really a great goal-keeper.

90 minutes + 3 min + 30 min.
i paid attention to the entire game that i got familiarize already with the names of the Spanish players.
i think i saw enough yellow cards to last me until the next World Cup on 2014.
i even saw a red card given away!
i got excited whenever the Spanish team tried to make a goal.
i also was able to pick-up some of the rules of the game,
since football is not really a popular sports in the PH.
and by the time the match ended,
it was already morning on my side of the world.

i'm sure to be waiting for the next World Cup in four years time.
by then,
i'll be cheering for three teams already.
i hope that Spain, Japan & Korea will make it again for the 2014 FIFA!
