INKT in Manila , pt.1
2016-Sep-18, Sunday 23:01When it was announced by the organizers of The Best of Anime that INKT will be coming to the Philippines in June for the event this September, I already swore I will be there for Koki. I have been listening to INKT since they released their first cd back in 2014, a year after Koki left KAT-TUN. Besides, INKT's music is my cup of tea. I have been into rock/rockish music eversince before my ears became accustomed to Asian Pop (Mando-Pop, Canto-Pop, J-Pop & K-Pop). I bought my ticket or pass in August and of course, opted for the fanmeeting & mini-concert, a showcase. I have been anticipating their coming so I brushed up on their songs but totally fail in memorizing the lyrics.
September in Manila means books and anime. We have an annual book fair that also coincides with the anime convention. When I went to the book fair with my sister on the same week that INKT will be coming, my sister and I were already on the look-out for possible gift/s for Koki. He's no longer a JE talent so he can now definitely receive gifts. We passed by this shop where Philippine crafts are being sold. I was thinking of giving him a shirt but that's a usual gift already so I opted for this black scarf that has Philippines on it. I decided to just get it on the day I will be meeting INKT. Back in the book fair, my sister saw this paper mache of tamaraw (the country's national animal and a relative of carabaos) that needed to be painted. It's actually a cool gift since I know Koki likes animals and since I cannot really give him a real tamaraw, the paper mache will do. And since he will be the one to paint it, he can show his artistic side. I really do hope he'll be able to do so. But if not, he can just have the tamaraw (as it is) on display in his flat. On the day of the fanmeeting & live, I almost forgot the tamaraw I bought with my sister at home. Good thing that my younger brother noticed that I wasn't carrying anything when I alight the car. We went back home to get it as my sister called me up to tell me that I forgot Koki's gift. I realized that I also forgot the powerbank when I was already riding the cab going to the venue. Terrible! I thought things won't go smoothly that day but I'm glad I was wrong. I reached the venue 30-minutes later than I was planning to. I forgot that even on a Sunday, traffic was pretty bad at my area due to some construction. I headed to the ticket counter to exchange my voucher for the actual pass. I also checked in where the fanmeeting will be held; then it was time to buy a powerbank because my mobile phone will definitely last the day without one. I looked for one and luckily, it was on sale. Then I headed to the local crafts store and bought the scarf I saw a few days earlier and added a miniature jeepney painted in gold for Koki. I bought three other miniature jeepneys for Kei (blue), Sassy (white) & mACKAz (silver). I was looking for another thing to give to Kei but ended up not buying anything else. I wanna make Koki feel extra special. Hahaha!
I went back to the venue after having a frap and nothing else. I checked out the booths area and found the merchandise booth. I got an INKT hoodie and their Physalis cd for autograph purposes. I was gonna buy the towel as well but decided not to in the end because I was told that shirts will be sold on the fanmeeting area. I headed to the fanmeeting area afterwards. The artist having a fanmeeting before INKT wasn't done yet but I was already there, starting the line. Organizers were still figuring out things but since people saw me already in line, they just followed me. Met a new friend who I spent the entire INKT fanmeeting and live with. Also met a few people who were to show their support for Koki since they were KAT-TUN fans first. I was really getting more and more excited as time passed by. I already know that autograph signing will be held at the fanmeeting; a photo-op as well but in groups; what I didn't know was we can actually ask them questions.
